Hoosen Wadiwala
Director

Hoosen was previously a Director in a major law firm (Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs) as well as a Partner in an accounting firm (Deloitte & Touche) and as such has a wealth of experience working in multi-disciplinary teams involved in both local and international matters and clients. Hoosen has more than 20 years’ experience in providing employment law services to various private and public sector entities and multi-national companies including trade unions.

His focus has included dealing with strategic and operational issues on all employment law matters, ranging from day to day disciplinary issues, CCMA arbitrations and Labour Court Litigation, to business reorganisation and re-engineering; minor and major retrenchments; senior executive issues including exit strategies as well as compliance with labour legislation. He has provided strategic advice on the transfer of business obligations and risks in the context of mergers, acquisitions, liquidations, schemes of arrangement and business outsourcing.

Hoosen also has experience in respect of risk management, corporate governance advisory services and forensic and crisis management investigations. He has also acted for attorneys, law firms, auditors and architects and other professionals in disciplinary matters and tribunals.

Tarynne Willis
Senior Associate Attorney

Tarynne is an admitted attorney. She started her articles with the firm in 2014 and was admitted as an attorney in 2016. She specialises in all aspects of employment law. During her employment with the Firm, she has assisted in advising clients on a range of employment related issues, including restructuring and reorganisation involving issues related to the transfer of employment as well as retrenchments.

She also has experience in assisting clients across different sectors in respect of various internal procedures, including disciplinary, ill-health and performance procedures, internal investigations, whistleblowing; victimisation and harassment; restraint of trade and other agreements. Tarynne assists clients in employment litigation in the CCMA, Bargaining Councils, and the Labour Court. She has chaired disciplinary enquiries and represented clients at the CCMA.

Tarynne conducted several presentations in respect updating clients on changes to the law and also has a focus on training and development. She has a special interest in corporate reorganisation, ill-health enquiries, whistle blower protection, data privacy, harassment and damages claims. She has also assisted in advising on disciplinary issues instituted against professionals such as auditors, accountants, lawyers and architects.

Tarynne has a Bachelor of Laws Degree.

Ntombi Baloyi 
Candidate Attorney

Ntombi is a candidate attorney currently serving her articles, which she commenced in July 2017. She holds an LLB degree obtained at the University of Witwatersrand in 2015 and Bachelor of Arts in International Relations obtained in 2013 at the same university.

Previously as a student at the University of Witwatersrand, Ntombi has worked as a student advisor as part of her LLB practical legal studies, dealing with a wide range of legal issues including family law and administrative law.

Since she joined the Firm her experience has expanded to assisting in preparing advice for clients on an employment issues, including constructive dismissals, unfair labour practices including suspension and promotion disputes, harassment, interpretation of employment legislation, CCMA and Labour Court litigation, as well as issues related to trade union disputes and disciplinary and forensic investigations.

Laura Sedibe
Candidate Attorney

Laura has an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Postgraduate Diploma in Compliance Management from the University of Johannesburg. She has experience working in Compliance for the South African Council for the Architectural Profession and thereafter progressing as a Legal and Compliance Officer.

She is responsible for providing legal advice on employment issues, administrative law, drafting of memorandums, drafting of pleadings, reports, letters, briefs to advocates, and other legal correspondence.

Laura focuses on preparing advice for clients on issues such as director duties, corporate governance, anti-corruption legislation and interpretation of employment legislation as well as issues related to delegations of authority conflict of interest, corporate opportunities and executive misconduct.
